Purple Oxytropis | Original Watercolour | 350 x 500mm

£200.00

Painted on location at Strathy East, Thurso, Scotland, amongst the sea wind and salt water. The Purple Oxytropis is a wildflower species on the edge of extinction.

Water from the sea was used to paint this piece and small pieces of sand give texture to the paining. This piece hold the energy of this beautiful location. I sat in awe of this stunning wildflower for hours painting wild and free, observing is unique features, long silvery arms that reached up to the sky holding pink flowers that looked like a fistful of jewels.

Overall size is 35 x 50 cm. Painted on 300gsm smooth textured watercolour paper, with light fast mineral pigment artisan pan Deep Deep Light watercolours. The artwork is signed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. All IP (Intellectual Property) remains with the Artist.

The paper was stretched on a block, however there is some slight cockling of the paper.
